We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joys of summer camp, regardless of their financial circumstances. By funding camperships, we enable these children to engage in recreational activities, build social skills, and create lasting memories in a supportive and enriching environment.
A program we proudly support is the "Learn to Swim, Operation Splash" initiative, specifically designed for children attending Title I schools.
The Friends also partners with The STEAM Ahead Foundation supporting the annual Game of Throws Event. Participants in this event learn mathematical and manual skills by designing and building a trebuchet and participate in a pumpkin tossing tournament.
The Friends actively collaborates with a group of senior Pickleball players to raise funds for the installation of Pickleball courts at city parks. This partnership aims to create opportunities for intergenerational interaction and promote a healthy and active lifestyle for individuals of all ages.
We are proud sponsors of the city's annual 5K run, a community event that promotes wellness, unity, and active living. By supporting this event, we encourage individuals and families to participate in physical activities, while also fostering community spirit and a sense of togetherness.
